I have the craftsman compression gauge kit. It is mityvac relabeled craftsman. Great quality kit. I think it was $70.

I just googled my tester. There is a reconditioned one at a Sears store 66 miles from me for $32. That is a smokin deal.

I bought two cheap testers- on from Autozone and one from O-O-O-O'Reilly's. The Autozone lasted most of a year and gave good readings. The O'Reilly's lasted a couple of months, gave good readings, but was a waste of money. The money I spent on those two would have nearly paid for the used Snap-On I bought on Ebay.

My Inova reads low too. I bought an OTC and it's great.

I'm gonna put a different schrader valve in mine and see if it helps it.

I went through 3 or 4 cheaper gauges before buying a SnapOn. Buy a used one off eBay. Sometimes trying to save money is actually wasting money.

Same with me from a couple different suppliers. Should be a law protecting us from being robbed from companys selling that junk to us and overfilling our landfills on top of it. 1 was reading way low and I was advertising the compression on several saws I sold on ebay through about 1 to 2 years. I am sure I lost plenty of money that way also.

What are you guys using to measure the gauge to see if it's reading high or low?

A saw that I had that ran perfectly and zero scoring was reading 90psi on a horrible freight gauge. Bought the mityvac tester and it was blowing 155psi.
