Leaning Maple
I've started cutting a lot of this stuff. It grows out wide and low, then spits and self seeds or something like that. Red sap. Breaks to bits in the slightest breeze. Not huge diameter but can get pretty big. I have as bunch to clean out of some pasture and fence line

Anyways, I need to know - what is it good for? Would it be worth saving some for some slabs or is it all just firewood? It seems softer than tall straight maples

Kind of sounds like boxelder. They would have the samaras on them now with the seeds in them. The red sap sounds weird though. If it is boxelder, the wood is soft, smells funky and has a whitish sap.
