I am a home inspector, and the geologist at an inspection stated that the hallway floor was domed about 2 inches with large cracks because of excessive root growth from a liquid amber that is about 10 feet away from the house. Is this possible?

Tree roots need two things to prosper. Moisture and oxygen. If that is the soil conditions under the slab then it could certainly be the problem.
