Hi. I would like some suggestions on what type of machine to rent and from where. I have about 20 stumps ranging from 4" to 20". I'd like to be able to do it on a day. I also have some steep slopes to negotiate. I can attach it to a tractor if nessecery, but I would rather not. I'm looking at a rayco 1625 or something similar.

it depends how many are closer to 4" vs 20" that 1625 might be a little to small if you have a few more bigger then smaller. I would look for something with a little more power maybe like a Vermeer 352 it has 35hp and will grind much faster then the 25hp grinders

Thanks. Most of the stumps are 10"-12". I'll try and find a place that offers a bigger machine.

Just got done with the Vermeer SC352. Well worth the extra $50 compared to the rayco. The Vermeer just chewed and chewed, worked great. Thanks again!
