Lumber grades. "Down fall"?

Maybe some one here knows. I look at building material auctions from time to time.

One lists some T&G SYP paneling graded as "down fall". What is that? Never heard of it. Perhaps made from salvaged natural fallen trees?

OK, thanks. Good to know. But is "downfall" from dead, or otherwise naturally fallen trees?

Some of the palletized stuff I saw had dark areas that looked like it might be more than "been laying around" dirt. Like something might be already eating it from having laid on the ground for years.

"Downfall is used to refer to a negative characteristic or issue with a particular piece of wood or lumber, such as defects, cracks, or other flaws that could affect its quality or usability."

Downfall lumber is not graded for structural use. It is usually used to make pallets or chipped up to make OSB, MDF, etc.
