I'm about to ship my Mall 2 MG to a guy in Quebec for a restoration/rebuild. Tells me the saw is worth maybe $500.00 restored. This was the first saw I ever used, under the old mans supervisision. And I have been dragging it around for at least 35 years. Used it up until 1988.
So for about $500.00 low to to maybe $750 or $800 he is telling me I would have a saw restored close to factory original. "I'm" thinking maybe to the point I could take it to the wood lot for the occasional outing. I have seen some of this guys work, " pictures on the Internet". Pretty impressive. Been using chainsaws for a long time, but I caught this strange disease last week when I found this forum. S... Rambling again.....
Thoughts?

You could go that route, but can you restore it yourself?

I've always been a hands-on sort of guy, so the thought of someone else restoring something for me takes all the fun out of it.

Then again, if you are just wanting it to come back new again, why not.

But for $500 plus, it better be new inside and out.
