well, for one, its held on with a hose clamp, so its pretty secure, and its %5. each..not much to carry a spare if it does somehow rip....and don't have to worry about prices going up in the future on foam versus limited available of stock air filters.... my 2 cents

oh, and if your worried about ripping the foam apart, don't....it's completely solid piece of foam except the about bottom 1 inch where it is attached to the 'velocity stack', so if it rips, there is still more filter material left.

Yeah, went back and read what you put bout the pantyhose prefilter. bet that would be some brush protection too. now, who's gonna tell me a simple way to mod my muffler..............

044 stack

Does anyone have a pic of an 044/440 with a velocity stack set up?
THANKS.

after market air filters; max-flow

question.
can you use No-Toil products on the max-flow filters,
on a Honda 450x I had a performance filter of same filter type material.
No-toil offers not only the treatment oil for the filter but also the
release agent to make the cleaning maintenance a no-toil issue.
Just wondering ?

If it's good and tacky it will work, some people (cheap people) use 10w non-detergant motor oil.
