Hello Everyone.

I just found my way back on to AS after a week to ten days of trying.

This new setup is wierd so it will take this old guy some time to relearn whats up.

I,m glad to see the system is back up.

Any reason to have a saw with both right and left hand starters mounted to the saw at the same time.. here's the first ever I've seen. MAYBE since its such a big saw and extremely high compression you'd need both hands? Would/could you use both hands at the same time, not that I would want to... what if the beast actually starts... cut your foot off. Lately these things are falling out of the sky every other day! But hey, its be an on-board spare in case one rope broke.

Dual spikes, why not dual starters?

I like the RH starter as long as I have log to lay the saw over when starting. LH starter is definitely easier to operate when starting the saw on the ground. I don't even think about drop starting a big saw anymore, anything bigger than a healthy 7-10 is out of the question for me.

Starting a saw by drop starting is a foolish and easy way to cut your self badly in my opinion. Not saying that I haven't done it, but as I become older, I realize how easy it for the saw to get away from me and more than once, had the bar slap my leg when it jerked the rope out of my hand. If the saw had started, especially these older saws, probably would have hurt me.

I've yet had that happen when starting from the ground with a foot firmly planted in the stirrup and any saw.
