Nick around here I would guess the ethanol lvl is alot higher as after about 3 days the ethanol has started gathering water. I can leave a pint of it and usually overnight you can see alil separation. Finally found a station with non eth gas.

Indeed the saw photo'd above started life as a D-30 or D-36. The AF cover off many different saw will fit with a slight modification to clear the starter. The donor was probably a 1-41/61 as no modification would have been needed since those two had the notch originally.

Near 50 old magnesium runners in my collection and down to only one Mac. A 10-10S. Need to change that.

They should be as thick as Homelites around here but I think Mo. Jim scoops 'em up.

Here is a 1-41 and 1-60 showing the notch in the AF cover, as well as a 1-43 and 1-62 without the notch.

Knock knock, anybody home? Looks like everyone moved and didn't leave a forwarding address.
I've been lurking on this thread for a while, but not much to contribute.
Made a couple of videos. Might be a little long winded, but here goes.

Read back a few pages, there is in fact a forwarding address, or at least was. Perhaps the reference has been removed.

To keep this one going, I'll add a few photos. I picked up the 1-71, 450, and SP125 several years ago, as well as the 1-85 in the background. In those days my chainsaw workbench consisted of a piece of plywood on a couple of saw horses.





Later on I graduated to an old wooden bench I used to have to keep my few saws on. You can see it in the background, by now I was adding a few more saws to the collection.



Eventually I had to put up some shelves to get most of the saws off the floor.



Today I have most of the wall space in my garage and workshop covered.
