I was just wondering....seasoned wood is best as we all know but since seasoning can be vastly different with weather conditions, how it's piled, what type of wood, etc... I'm not really picky, just wondering what the general moisture content of wood should be for optimum "seasoned wood". Maybe I should be asking simply where should the content be to maybe learn from mistakes as they come.

The general rule that I've seen on this site and other sources is 20%, as measured with moisture meter. Split a seasoned piece of firewood and take the reading in the new split.
