Do you get an accurate measurement when checking frozen wood??

Poke a frozen piece, then let it thaw and poke it again.

Funny, I actually did a little test a few weeks back. I took a piece of red oak that was healthy and cut down, split it open and got a reading of about 22%. Thought that was kind of low. Took a piece of seasoned oak from the end of a stack back in November, split it open and got 16-17%. I have the 27$ lowes model.
