MS 660 non running prospect

Near me there is an MS 660 in good physical condition for $400. Guy says good compression, ran fine until this year. He said he's identified the problem to be no spark. I figure if the saw is actually in good condition, and I can fix this for $100 or so, I should be a very happy camper.

Is it likely a coil that I can replace? Does the entire ignition need to go? What am I likely looking at? Also, is there/was there a lifetime warranty on ignitions?

The entire ignition is the coil. The lifetime warranty is for the original owner only. You can buy one cheap on eBay used. 5-10 minute fix.

Yep easy fix part # 1122 400 1314 they use them on the 046/460 and 066/660 saws. Just make sure you set your air gap properly I think it's .008-.0012
