Well, I think his objective is to use the five bars that he already has, which are 36" long, 3/8" pitch, and with the smaller slot that fits the MS 660 studs. My feeling is that such a utopia cannot be done with any modifications to the MS 880 that might lead to trouble down the road. The only possibility is to mill flats on the bottom of the studs to raise up the bar (and its oiler hole), but that leads to other problems discussed earlier. The chain could more easily jump off because the sprocket is no longer aligned with the bar's slot.
