Ms460 ?

I just bought a new 28" ES bar for my 460 with new stihl full chisel chain and have not ran it yet. Do ya all think it's enough saw for it or should I have stayed with the 25".

Considering there's pro timber cutters running 36" bars with semi-skip chain in large softwoods on 460s here, you'll do fine with a 28".

It's enough, I like the grunt of the 660 though.

Plenty of power there, especially if you're running the dual port muffler cover.

32" on mine

I have a 460 that I traded in my 390 for. did the cheap swap out for bar so it came with a 20". Already had a 25" on my 360..so swapped that out..and got stuck in a 5 foot maple trunk. went and bought a 32" and as long as you let the saw do the work and don't bury it and stand on top of the saw..it will be plenty. sharp chains and high rpms..never settle for someones "opinion" get out there and use what you have..some people think a chain saw is a hand saw and push and pull it through the wood and some people like to grab the throttle and watch the chips fly. Your ideal saw can only be determined by the method in which you use it.

The 460 has plenty of power for a 28".

460 with 32 and full skip is no sweat.In hard wood it slows a bit.
