Installed a new cylinder and piston that I purchased from Bailey’s
The cylinder was for a 036 but Bailey’s assured me that it would fit the 034 with some minor adjustments to the plastic cover. There idea of minor adjustments and my idea of minor adjustments differ. It looks like the cover needs to be at least 3/8” taller in order for the cover to locate correctly on the saw case.
My question is will a 036 cover screw down on the 034 case.
I appreciate any and all suggestions.

I dont know, but i was wondering the same thing. Somebody here will know for sure.

A good sharp utility knife and it’ll fit.
Next question
I scored the piston and cylinder wall so the question is why?
When I dumped the gas out it had mixed gas in the tank.
I haven’t checked the seals yet.
It starts idles and runs fine. How do I know if the gas is to lean.
What is the proper way to set the carb.

Yes, the 036 cylinder bolts right on the 034. I put an 036 pro (decomp button) right on my 034. I used an 036 pro top cover that had so that I could use the decomp button with out cutting up the old top cover.

The same carburetor worked just fine.

The only issue I had is that the 036 muffler is different but you can get away with some washers under the old 034 muffler.

Mine runs like a top and has become my go to saw.
