Quite stoked about this.

Finally got some time to try out my new 36" Alaskan.

Saw is the MS660 magnum. I ran 40:1 with fully syn oil. Oregon ripping chain.

My ladder setup is a bit budget, will get it proper sorted as time goes on

Log was a lump of Totara. Got a few bit like this. Probably should have taken some bark off looking back, there were small bit of gravel in there.



First cut.



Second...



Ended up slabbing this whole log.

I can cut up to 710mm. Once I drill the sprocket and take dogs off I will get out to 810mm.

Pretty happy with how it went.
 
Looks great!

If you can try raising the starting end of the log by a foot or so, this will really make the whole job easier on your back, you let Mr Gravity do the pushing for you, or at least some of the pushing :msp_w00t:
