Tell him paint it Orange and be done with it, just keep the Poulan stickers covered while painting and tell him to tell them its the bad @$$ model from Canada.
Steve
Agree. Have a 2700, 2800( basically same saws) a 3000 and 3300. Great saws.I only tell friends an family about Poulan greatness. I don't mind the others with blinders. Let them to go into the orange light at the end of the tunnel. I enjoy heading for Green pastures.
@fossil Elux has a decent run with the 3300 style frame. Just think if they didn't stop at 60cc's and kept going to a 70+cc version. Would have been one of the best power to wt ratios ever and a real screamer!

What year was the take over?True except that series of saws were all Poulan designs and were out before the Elux takeover.
1986. You don't think those saws were designed before the take over of the same year? What year was the take over?
With that information and cross referencing the model date control index all of these models

Those documents your posting around were probably shared by me a long time ago.
Is that a collection perspective or reliability perspective?

We been doing chain build offs on chainsaw repair site sooooooo.
Being I had some cant wood left over, today I thought hmmmm wonder what my stock poulan 415 65cc could do.
Trying to pull a 3/8 8T and aggressive chain I filed for a 3120 long ago. I think it would be faster with the 3/8 7 as the chain and 8 suks the saw down somewhat.
Was hoping the pine cant would be forgiving with me pushing on it.
Finger still bleeding from just putting that dang chain on.
Thanks a lot. You just caused me to add another model to my Poulan Wish List.

Kevin, As I recall you had a problem similar to that, at the last Poulan GTG we had. Thanks to Gary's first aide kit & some electrical tape, the show went on.. LOL
