Looking for a fuel tank for a 3400. I've split the neck of the tank throat at 9 and 12. Tried epoxying the cracks but no luck. Anyone have a used tank for sale?

Don't have a tank but I do believe they are polyethylene or polypropylene. In the meantime, carefully wipe the cracks over with a small tip soldering iron. Nothing will stick or seal those materials.
They also make plastic welding kits for those materials.

Make sure the tank is well washed out so no gas is left inside.

I'm looking for a fuel tank for my 3400. Checked EBay, checked chainsaws.com. No luck. Anyone have one they're willing to part with? Part number 530010286. Mine is cracked on the full neck at 9 & 12.

Never paid attention to these on bar stud replacement, never had to? Talking bar stud right? On the huskys I just use a magnetic rod with stud on end and go through oil tank fill.
Correct. Laying in bed last night I thought about the magnetic rod trick. Good that someone has tried it. Thanks.

Bob, the P3400/3700/3800/4000 use the same studs as a P306 & P245, #5300-01684
but the kits are #5300-30039 with the "special flat grind" & hole on the tips...and a quadrupling
of the price. :)
I have two bar studs I pulled from and old 3400. Once the 3800 arrives I'll try using a magnetic extension to insert one in the saw. Just hope the case is okay as I can't figure out how a bar stud could fall into the oil tank.

Soft metal, may be the hole is wallowed out a bit. Clean the stud hole out really well with carb cleaner first. Put a small amount of JB weld right under the stud square head to seal it.

Get a 1" stack of 5/16" washers & a bar nut ready & some JB weld mixed up & wait until its almost to set up so it won't run.

Don't forget to look in the tank fill hole with a flashlight to align the square head with the two ribs inside the tank wall before that last 1/8" or so of the stud head is seated.

Torque it down tight & let it sit for a day.

The magnet parts wand pulls them in fine. Gravity is your friend too, once it's started in.

Hey Bob, handling/transportation shock/vibration can cause many problems.

Looking to trade two bars for maybe 3 3000 bars and maybe chains. Have a NOS Poulan Pro 20" bar( 530044547). Believe it fits PP330, 380 and 3750. Also have a new 24" Oregon D176 bar, never used. Any interest?
