Nylon rope strands in crankcase

Cause i screwed up trying to block the piston with a rope. I think it worked its way to the transfer and got shredded.

It's only a joncutter i was trying to change the sprocket on. So it could easily become a parts saw.

Looks to me like i need take out the 4 bolts that hold the cylinder down and blow out with compressed air then reassemble.

Will i need to replace the gasket at the bottom?

Is this right approach ?

I reuse gaskets asll the time if they'r not broke.

I'd look and see what's in there with the cylinder off. Air first then rinse with mix and more air.

A light impact gun will get the clutch off , without doing the old rope trick,If you have one ,

Usually , if you just reverse direction you can get the rope back out.
If you did that and just have some odds and ends of rope fiber in there leave it alone.
It'll spit it out.
