Thanks for the reply. I am having serious doubts, but they made the cylinder look pretty realI could be wrong as there are alot of knowledgeable people on here. But I'm calling both pieces imports. The piston is a giveaway. But the cylinder is close even with the numbers on the bottom. Problem, no Mahle or KS designation. No A or B stamped on cylinder top or piston top. Here is a new 268 closed port assembly I have. Note the differences. Hope this helps.
good chart infoLooks legit

Can I have a link to that wealth of knowledge? I am now more confused. I read up and it apears the Gilardoni 268 cylinder was open port. This cylinder is open port, were they found on the XP models or only the non XP?Looks legit

The OP's P&C are surely not OEM as these are always marked as to which mfgr....either Mahle or Gilardoni. From the numbers it looks like they took info from both OEM mfgrs . Here are some pics of a non XP 268 Gilardoni. Niether Mahle or Gilardoni made any allowence for a decomp and yet the OP's shows a place in the casting for one. Also the OP"s cyl has 10 cooling fins same as the Gilardoni whereas the Mahle has only 9 cooling fins.268 non xp piston with a 268xp cylinder.
I’ve never seen a Mahle cylinder with the 50zn numbers on it that didn’t also say Mahle. The piston should also say Mahle on the inside.
But I could be wrong
