I'm looking to buy some crankshaft seals for my 031AV. The seal is leaking on the clutch side and I'm told I should replace both due to age of the saw..1970s...
The dealer did the pressure test. He says the seals are no longer available through Stihl. I have found both seals as Stihl OEM NOS on the web but I don't know if a brand new "old" OEM seal is better than a new aftermarket seal.

Seal sets (both sides)
Sawzilla has both bearings aftermarket Proline brand $17.95 https://sawzillaparts.com/proline-crankshaft-seal-set-for-stihl-030-031-032-chainsaw/
Lil Red Barn has the set for $17.95 when you have over the pic of the seals it says Performance Saw Supply https://www.lilredbarn.net/product-p/stihl-031-seals.htm

There is a company DIYSpareParts in the UK... They have many Stihl Parts and have both seals available but I've never heard or bought from UK
https://www.diyspareparts.com/parts/stihl/oil-seal-9640-003-1340/ £5.33
https://www.diyspareparts.com/parts/stihl/oil-seal-9640-003-2390/ £8.63 total including shipping/delivery = £26.91 = $32.90 US dollars

Seal Flywheel side only
Wolf Creek Saw Shop has an aftermarket BAO seal for the flywheel side for $6.
HL Supply new aftermarket $2.95 made by Hyway https://www.hlsproparts.com/Oil-seal-replaces-Stihl-9640-003-1340-p/h29340.htm
There is an OEM NOS on eBay flywheel side for $9.49 https://www.ebay.com/itm/3255273688...55-0&campid=5338722076&customid=&toolid=10050

Seal Clutch side only
Messick's new aftermarket $14.48 https://www.messicks.com/part/9640 003 2390
Stihl NOS Ebay $19.95 https://www.ebay.com/itm/234652519430
OEM NOS on eBay clutch side $34.95 (SEAL ONLY - expensive) https://www.ebay.com/itm/3344735122...55-0&campid=5338722076&customid=&toolid=10050

Your thoughts on where I should buy these 2 seals from?
Is NOS better than a new aftermarket?

Any other tips advice is welcomed!!!

I’ve bought from all the above suppliers here in the U.S. I’ve used their aftermarket seals, and never had issues. All these guys have given good service as well. I’d have no issue on going AM…
