O hi o
What is a new 2165 going for? Any good deals out there on them.Thinking about trading in my 029 for part of it.

:chainsaw:

I will try to remember to ask. The only price that I noted was for 2171($636 plus tax). Hopefully some other members can give you an idea. Not all of the dealers are doing the "bag it and drag it" deal but my local dealer is. If your 029 works you would be better off to sell it yourself for cash and take in a different less valued saw. Where in Ohio are you?

Just saws We're about 3 to 3.5 hrs north of you.Between Tiffin and Clyde ,Ohio.Little town called GreenSprings(well actually south of there) :givebeer:

I know of where you speak. I have family in Fremont.

Reason I was asking is I am curious where all the members from Ohio are located. Thanks for letting me know.

I should be at the dealer early this week and I will ask them. Is there a dealer close to you?

My local dealer in Orville is high. I think the last time I was in there, the 2165 was about 680 with a 20" B/C. The 2171 was about 740....with a 28" B/C.

Personally, I would venture for the 2171. I know I ran the 365's for years and thought they were a great saw with an 18" bar, but the 372 is light years ahead of the 365/2165. For the price difference, go with the 2171.

A 372/2171 with a 20-24" bar is a great all around saw.

Just talk to my J-red dealer.2165 with 20" $600.He suggested the 2156,same price as the 2165 but it will keep up with a 2171 he told me.Then he told me about the 2159.So now I don't know which saw to get.The 2156 runs at 14000 RPM and his J- red sales man/Mech. said it would do 16000 rpm.

I don't know???? He didn't say.2156 will keep up with a 2171????:help: :help:

Get it in Orange from Bailey's $500. How can you go wrong.

Stick with our sponsers anyway.

The newer 365 is pretty close to the 372. Not quite as strong, but close.

Yup, the newer 365's are closed port with the good walbro carb. Only difference in performance comes from the differance in displacement.

I have not forgot to ask but have not been to the dealer yet. The company I work for is listing hard to port.

I would not buy a 2156 for power. The specs say 14000 RPM but with a 20" bar I do not think it stands a chance in ???? of staying up with 2171. Nice saw but not all that. My dealer sells a lot of them and the 2156 seems to be a solid homeowner saw. I might chose the 2156 over the 2159. For the money the 2171 is the best all around current Jonsered.

I have to take the dealer some money so I will ask tomorrow.

the 2156 is more then a homeowner saw the ms361 cuts right along with it.
yes for the money the 2171 is the prefered saw.
the 2156 is the same saw as the 357xp except the 357 has a hump back. but it uses the same filter as the 2156.

The 357 would be a homeowner saw to me as well, nice to use with a 18" bar and .325 chain. Have not run a 361 but if it is like a 036 same deal. I do not own a 357 anymore but it was okay, bland, nothing to write home about. The 2156/357 worked best for me with.325 and an 18" bar. I prefer 3/8 chain and more torque than speed so away they went. Sorry to offend anyone with the term homeowner but that is who seems to buy them and keep them around here.

I want to replace my 029.So my dealer said that the 2156 would out preform it and weight less.I don't need another big saw,I have 2 920's now.Iam more confused now then before. Thanks guys for all the info.So is he telling a tall tale about a 2156 keeping up with a 2171???

For a small saw the 2156 is good choice. It is the highest RPM saw they offer. It is also the highest HP(4.4) until the 2165(4.6) which is only 0.2 Hp larger. It is a good small saw and would be a good addition to a couple of 920s. In small wood(6"-10") with sharp chain it might keep up. As long as the saw was cutting in it's optimal power band. The 2171 can bury a long bar much better.

I am off to the dealer.

Yes the 2156 will out preform the 029.
your dealers' tale is not a Thall tale.
the 2156 does keep up with a 2171 in branches.
the 2156 will complement your two 920's

2186 3/8 24"=$880.00 plus tax

2171 3/8 20"=$63500 plus tax

2165 3/8 18"=$530.00 plus tax

2159 3/8 18"= $460.00 plus tax

2152 .325 16"= $370.00 plus tax

The 2186($880.00 3/8 24" plus tax) and 2156(I seem to have missed this one) are not included in this years Bag It and Drag it.

These are the prices after the Bag It a Drag It deal trade in. The saws traded in do not need to run, any brand, and any size. They do have to be complete with bar and chain.

All Jonsered dealers should be able to offer these prices and should not be charging over list for any saw. Ask to see the price sheet. If your dealer is up front they will show it to you.

I hope this helps you make your choice.

Thank-you everyone for all the info.Justsaws thoses prices are great. My dealer wants $600 each for the 2165 and 2156.He said the 2156 is the hot saw for jonsered. He 's a nice person and has worked on my 920's .I need to find if there is another dealer close by.Thanks again everyone.

Pete

He said he could give me between $ 80.00 to 130.00 for my 029, depending on condition of saw.He was looking at a book on used saw values
