Gonna make some sweet benches! Here's what we did for my buddy's benches. Had some Poplar laying around so we built a Fe benches and a picnic table.View attachment 639327 View attachment 639328 Salvaged some cedar a couple weeks ago, have five logs 5.5ft long. Planning on making benches from them. Opened the first one today. Now I just have to figure out how to attach the backs. I continue to be amazed at the finish of the cuts, much smoother than I ever thought they would be.
That's why we just decided to do ours this way. We plan on doing more so who knows what we'll come up with. You may be able to buy some pre-fabbed bracket kits.Right now I am planning on using the half logs one for the seat and one for the backrest. With some small half rounds for legs. Just how to attach the backs.
Where you at in Illinois Boomer?
.Macoupin county
Very nice!View attachment 643717 View attachment 643718 Well got some more done and have two benches completed. Ignore the pipe and ratchet straps it will come out as soon as the construction adhesive sets up.
It may gray on you. The poly will keep them from fading for a bit I guess.I plan on putting a coat of poly on the seat and back rest to protect it some. Not sure how the color will hold up over time.
Cool.
That would be about $1000 if you had to buy it. (if you could find anything like it)
For some crazy reason, people never want to pay the craftsman. If that was sitting in a "vintage" or "craft" store, people would be slobbering all over it and buying them like crazy! Piss on them. Really nice set BTW!Come tell people around here that. Have them for sale at $500 and can't get an offer.
