I need some opinions.
This is a buddies saw.
This is a TS420, but nearly same strato piston design as a 441.
I've ran some that had damage in smaller areas, and downward.
With a honing and tapering of the damage before a new piston kit, of course.
I know if the strato port has damage and leaks in the two transfer ports, it would not run well at all.

That jug will run. Its not pretty but if the customer truely understands the risk then go for it. The transfers on the one side will just be advanced some. Could change the power a little but should do just fine and will likely give a good bit of service. Heck a new jug is probably expensive and a am jug is probanly no better in quality then that beat out jug.

I had a 262 xp which had almost the same damage due to crappy circlip rings going ballistic. But I replaced the jug with a good aftermarket one. I have no good feelings when I know the damage inside, but that's just me.
and my knowledge on strato engines is lacking...so no recommendation here. You always give very helpfull information on stone cutters, so you deserve return info, even if it ain"t worth much. :)

Good to know. That saw will die from a crank failure or wore through plating before that oops inside is a issue.
