5be37a69ebcb9ab46ae45dce438eb0df.jpg Hi,
Was looking at electric affordable chain sharpeners.
Seems you have the HF type for $50-100 and then you have the name brand full size for $350-450?
In between you have the Oregon 410-120 for about $170 shipped on Amazon!
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with one of these?
I don't use a saw everyday but like a sharp well maintained chain when I do.

Hi,
Thanks for the link!

I did do a search but what I found was threads on the Oregon 511A more than anything else.

Might actually see if I can find a used 511A?

Looked at the Jolly but it is more money than I want to spend.

I guess all of the Oregon's are made in Italy anyway?

Seems the "vise" that holds the chain is the bear with these?

Read the linked review. Poster notes problems with adjustments. Uses full sized wheels, but has smaller motor.

The Tecomec I linked you to on eBay is like the full-sized Oregon grinders, but does not have the built-in light, the 'down angle' tilt, or wheel wear compensation. But it is the 'best value' in a full-sized grinder, in my opinion. New, with warranty.

Hi,
Thanks!

The grinder say's "compact" so I took that to mean "mini"?

I saved that link, might try to find a used 511A, I'm kickin tires at the moment trying to decide what to do.

There is an old sharpener on the bay that I like but the company that made it is gone and what shape the motor is in is questionable?

I like nice old well built machinery but can turn into a money pit sometimes! (don't ask how I know this!)
