I think the bimetal manual draft may be the biggest problem to overcome dont really see how you would ever really get rid of the heat dump with a draft thats designed to continue to keep stove temp up as long as theres wood to burn, regardless if your house even needs it or not plus the waste of wood that its going through certainly not something I would want in an outdoor stove.
whatever advantages it offered isnt really worth it in my opinion sure it doesnt need electric but thermostat controlled drafts can usually be configured to work with a generator also.
