OWB pump location

I just read where the circulator pump can be located in my basement instead of at the OWB as long as the pump is lower than the outlet. Is there anything to consider that makes one location better than the other?

My pump is located when the line first enters. I also plumbed into my water line so I can fill (top off) my owb with the flip of a valve shut off.

Sure, if you put the pump in the basement the pump rated (most likely) for indoor use only will be indoors

It's also a better environment to work in if the pump fails.

What about noise? I have no idea how loud the pump will be. It will be running 24/7.

Yep- almost to quite. Definitely run it 24/7. It is the starting and stopping that kills em.

Thanks to all who responded. Looks like another decision has been made. Maybe I will get this thing installed before the end of the year if the weather starts cooperating a little bit.
