I just got a s65 and am trying to clean it up
and get it started, but the tube that goes from
the gas tank up above the carb is rotted out.
at the end of the tube there is a little filter in whats left of
the tube,what is this?
I've never worked on one of these before,i've never even seen
one of these before.
Also where can i get a new chain for these?
Thanks

Partner is owned by Husqvarna (electrolux). Oregon makes bar and chains for Partners, so anyone who has Oregon chains should be able to get you set up.

I had the same problem with my P-70. Got a gas tank vent from an Echo, popped it in, some more clean-up, and the 28 year old saw came back to life. Nice to get a free 70cc saw.

a mess

Had the carb apart and cleaned wants to run but
dies after a couple of seconds, does anyone know air and fuel
mixture screw numbers, like 1 and a quarter out or what ever?
Does the gas tank vent have to be hitched up?
i haven't got a new tube on yet.

Your initial adj should be around 1 turn out on each .Does your inlet lever flush with the area around the lever ?Did you install correctly the gasket behind the carb ?Did you check your fuel filter in the tank?If you still got the"old type" like a felt, its probably hard as a rock and dont let gas go tru.So buy a new fuel filter for a Husky 346,353 or Jonsered,it will fit right on your hose.

If your vent line is punked

Then more than likely your fuel line is as well.

You need fuel and vent line, a fuel filter and vent and a carb kit.

I have all those parts and can throw together the whole thing.

To answer your questions the vent does not need to be installed for the saw to run and you remove the welch plugs by carefully piercing through the plug with a very sharp prick punch (at an angle so as not to damage the passage and jet holes under the plug) then pry/lever it out carefully.

carb

Will only run if i spary a shot of starter fluid in the filter.
Doesn't seem to want to suck the fuel up into carb
If i blow some air in the vent tube, gas will push up to the carb.
once i let the pressure off the fuel runs back out of the gas line.
Took carb apart and cleaned, lost a little spring that pushes down from above
on idle screw, have no idea what the was for!
