Passing of AWOL

Many of you that have been around for a while will recognize AWOL (Alan Wolthuis) pictured on the left below.



His wife sent a message this morning informing me of Alan's passing yesterday in his sleep. Alan had been struggling with a number of health issues 7 or 8 years, he is now released from his trials.

As I learn anything further I will do my best to pass it along.

Please be in prayer for Rebekah and the rest of Alan's family.

So sorry to hear of this, thank you Mark for informing us of this sad occurrence, my condolences to his family.

I will never forget when I met him at the GTG near Dike, Iowa about 12 years ago. I was having trouble with the new pull cord I just installed on my Mac 610 Timber Bear. He looked at it and said, "Simple fix. Just shorten your cord about 6 inches". Two much cord on the pulley." I did and afterwards I never had any more trouble with it. RIP, Alan.

Rebekah says there will be a graveside service Saturday morning at 10:00. Hopewell Free Will Baptist Church / Cemetery between Graff and Bendavis, MO on 38.

I am trying to get an exact address.

There were well over 300 people there for the graveside service this morning, perhaps a dozen tractors that Alan had worked on, and a chainsaw salute at the end.

I didn't know the man, but TONS of respect for the pine box. I'm sure that represents how he lived his life. RIP AWOL.
