Pine tree drop gone horribly wrong

Leverage gives a wonderful advantage. If you get a rope high up the tree, it doesn't take all that much pulling force to create a large moment in the direction of pull. If you put a pull rope on a trunk 5' above the ground, it would take a D4 crawler to equal the pull one guy could provide if the rope was 80 feet up. So get your pull ropes up there to reduce the chance the tree can go elsewhere.

Oh, the D4 and one guy pull are approximations, not mathematical calculations.
 
does anyone else find it ironic that the trailer brand was great timber and a pic of pine trees on it
