I ran across a Pioneer 450 on CL that is complete, looks in pretty good shape, but is not running. He's asking $100 which seems high, but I've also read these are rare and collectible. Any input on how much something like this is worth?

Thanks,
Russ

They are really not scarce or greatly sought out by collectors. Most collectors of the Pioneer saws would have no trouble finding one in fairly good shape. We seldom find them in running condition but the most often problem with them is the coil casing will be severely cracked or split to bits, usually the coil will be shorted out from moisture corrosion. I have never payed for one but have several, I kept one completely stock and have scrounged parts off the other saws. I see them go for around $100. on eBay.
