Piston Knotch

Which side should the Pison Knotch face when assembling a ryobi 4 cycle gas trimmer ?

What would be the customary valve clearance for both Intake & Exhaust ?

Any suggestions ?

Any input would greatly be appreciated.

On the valve clearance I have noticed a tendency for intake to be 0.006" and exhaust to be 0.008" on most engines.

With regard to the notch on the piston, not sure. And it's probably not something you want to get wrong.

notch side facing away from the exhaust port there should be an arrow stamped on the top of the piston
