hi. i hope someone on this forum can help with a few questions. i am currently building a cottage in an area of manitoba canada which has a climate that can be -40 to plus 30 celcius. the lot that we are building has been basically carved out of the hillside and is a composed of shale. since it is carved out of the hill it is very bare. i would like to know what kind of tree if any can be planted and grown there. if there is an e-mail for anyone who replies i can send photos so that you have an idea of what i am talking about. i believe there are currently oak trees on the slope of the lot but where we are building on a flat spot it is bare. thanks for any advice.
