I have a three year old lemon tree, started from a seed in a pot. It is about 2.5 feet tall and has no branches. It has leaves from top to bottom. I have topped it twice in an effort to get it to branch out but no results. Is this normal or what am I doing wrong?

That's just how citrus grows. It'll branch out when it's ready. I'd leave it alone. Thing is you started it from seed, when most citrus trees are grafted onto a root stock, so you're going to get a very tall skinny lemon tree in the first place. 2 years does sound like a long time though...have any pictures you can post?
