This contraption arrived yesterday. These PM850s were sold as "ALL CUTTER" (cut-off & chain saw, I guess) here in Japan. I had bought it for parts, but it turns out to be in rather nice shape mechanically, even the chain brake and oilers work...

I also made a little video, unfortunately completely out of focus for some reason...

Looks like a neat saw. Is the wheel belt drive or chain drive? Is the oiler switchable automatic or manual?

The disc is belt-driven. The engine is a regular PM850 with manual & auto oiler and chain brake. So it can be converted to chainsaw operation just by replacing the pulley with a sprocket.

That's extremely cool. I have a blue Target QuickCut 65/14. It's a 103cc McCulloch 795L that has been outfitted with the cutoff wheel arm and a round AF setup similar to that one. I've seen some smaller 10-series Mac based cutoff saws (and PM600, PM320, and front tank Mac based demo saws), but this is the first time I've seen one based on an 82cc 10-series.

Very cool. Never seen one before.

You sir have the absolute coolest stuff in your collection. I've seen a few front-tank Mac machines like that (1-52, 250, etc), but never one with that AV mounted handlebar setup.

this seems to be the thread where guys who know about these things hang out at the moment. Anybody know what size engine this Poulan based saw is? It is a Target 14/66
The guys on the Poulan sticky didn't know when I asked them. Also it says to use only "high speed" cut off wheels on a decal on the belt cover but it doesn't list an RPM.
My diamond wheels are rated for 5400 RPM, is that high enough? The inexpensive 14 inch wheels I use on my metal chop saw are only rated for 4300 RPM.
4200, 5200? Prob 85cc 5200. Awesome saw

I'd wager it's an 85cc 5200. It has the shorter 4200/5200 fuel tank/rear handle. All the Poulan branded demo saws of this family that I've seen have been 85cc machines based on the 5200 and 5400 powerheads. Seen 52/12, 52/14, and 8510 based "Cut-All", "Cut-Off", and "Multi-Purpose" labeled machines. In a 'Private Label' Poulan list, 5400 based machines are also mentioned............with 12", 14", and 20" (!!!) wheels. Would like to see one with a 20" wheel.

Yours is the first blue Target branded Poulan CounterVibe I've seen. Seen pictures of the Rigid machines before. Also have seen a few blue Target branded Pioneer, Pioneer/Partner, and PoulanPro P-40/50/60 and 405/455/655 series machines too..........mostly on eBay.

Since we're posting pics..........here's my Target Quickie 14/65.

I just stumbled upon an old Poulan 52-12 cut-all. Looks to have been siting outside in a pile of junk for some time but I did get it to pop a few times with some carb cleaner. Seems to be in okay shape considering. Anyone know anything about these saws?
