First thing thanks for the support over the years. This 394 is a great classic muscle saw. 1994 model year. This saw does have some damage to case the small bar above the recoil is missing. Those are always the saws that come out the best but, it doesn't effect the performance of the saw it absolutely HAMMERS. I hate to sell it like this but I'm trying to make some room in the shop and it was too nice of saw to go the parts pile. The crank has new factory 6203 skf bearings and seals. The cylinder is OEM with caber rings and a hyway pop up piston that has been lightened. The cylinder has been ported for performance wood cutting. The port areas have been increased for flow for more power at higher rpm. The ignition timing has also been advanced for for better throttle response and more torque. This one is not too extreme the base gasket has been deleted. It has been converted with a 395 carburetor. The chain brake and carburetor are aftermarket. The OEM stuff is getting so hard to fine. This saw does not make crazy compression so it runs great on 50 to 1 93 pump gas but wakes up on VP small engine or Husqvarna fuel. All the features work as they should including the chain brake oil pump, kill switch, and choke. It will come with a 20" 3/8" bar and skip chain. I included a picture of the compression number so you know what you are getting. We do appreciate your business!! We really do. We get back to people very quickly with all questions. Please zoom in and look at the pictures carefully. If you want video just ask!!

I was serious. I know saw testing with gauges is a little variable and to be taken with any sense of precision, but I thought below 100 was very bad, but above 180 pretty darn good. What are numbers for new saws? 250?

it depends on the saw, but I would think 183 is almost as good as you could get without doing some machine work to the cylinder. I'm not sure what new is. I never tried my new saws lol. Obviously you would get better numbers after the rings set versus a fresh new cylinder and piston.
