Earlier this spring, Tractor Supply had pp5020's on sale. I'd read modifiedmark's thread on this and was curious so i sunk the $170 required. i've kept it totally stock except for carb tuning. Recently I had to sharpen the chain after giving it some use. The depth gauges on this safety chain are set high at the factory and, after sharpening, needed correction.
here's why i need to sharpen:
here are two pictures after sharpening with a timberline:
for depth gauges, i used an oregon type grinder with a 1/4" thick wheel. measured height and angle with a husqvarna roller guage.

Think they made it like that to sell more of them so the ppl that file sharp chains just buy a new one instead of filing two rakers and there 6 pack is gone
