I have the dewalt 12" battery saw. I've found the smaller batteries really affect how it hangs in the cut. 5ah is seriously the smallest battery that will run it right. I dontbhave any 4ah batteries, but I do have a 3ah battery and it just doesn't run the saw effectively. I assume it has to do with the batteries ability to deliver the needed amp to the motor.

I would chose the black and decker because it is a kit.
