How difficult is it to rebuild a carburetor on a chainsaw ?

I have not rebuilt a carburetor before.

Is there a lot of parts ?

Can a lot of things go wrong.

Could I tackle a carburetor on a Husky 371 ?

Saw won't idle.

Saw was made in 1998 ?

thanks David

Very easy. Here's a link to a rebuild kit so you can see how few parts there are:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Carburetor-Kit-...temQQimsxZ20081214?IMSfp=TL081214116002r36946

And here's a diagram of how the carburetor goes together:

Take it apart. Put on safety glasses. Blow out all the passages with a can of carb cleaner with the "straw" attached. Where can you screw up?

1. Misorientation of the diaphragms or gaskets. Use the link to the diagram above.
2. The tiny spring under the metering lever can pop out and go bye-bye.
3. Not adjusting height of metering lever. Again see instructions in the link provided.
