My new 372XP arrived, any tips on breaking it in? Or maybe my question should be, How do I break it in?(correctly) Thanks

Run the first several tanks at 40:1 oil/gas mix (I use 32:1)

Keep the chain sharp and dont dog the motor

Rip off the muffler and put a couple holes in it so the engine can breathe. make it look like this one:

Short of modifying your new saw right off the bat Huskyman is right Run 40:1 mix keep the saw sharp and keep it cutting. The saw will break-in in 5 to 10 tanks. Try to aviod over reving due to a dull chain or poor cutting technique but don't try and baby the saw either. Then this afternoon go ahead and modify your muffler and get twice the amount of work done tommorrow.
Enjoy your saw.
