The screw sticking out is an adjustable orifice to restrict the oil flow to the bar. It's kind of weird because it is not an auto oiler, just has the standard Remington oil pump.
I do have a picture of a tag. View attachment 1126328
As you can see from the tag, it was a super 990 tag.

Alot of bow bar companies modified saws for customers, some models had specific designations.
Poulan did that in house.
That "5" was definitely stamped after production .

I'm trying to find info and any knowledge on this Remington super 995. I've been told it's a "clone" which I don't believe because it is all Remington parts. It is 105cc I have measured the bore to determine that.

I find it extremely interesting the size of the fuel tank on the 995. It has a massive tank compared to any other Remington of the super series I've seen.
Ahh,, that’s where the 995 ended up

Sweet! I think Remington saws have nice sleek/Swept lines! I own a couple, one says powermate, one says SL-9 and I have a matching CUT-R-RITE demo saw as well in my collection. I came across one of those bigger models which I think said 954 sitting out in the elements behind this old farts house, but he wasn't interested in turning loose of it. Thanks for the pictures guys! I think they looked way ahead of their time. 😉

So I tried to see if a Tilly hl159a would mount on a super 660 and the linkage won't work. Will I need to use the linkage from trigger to carb from a 754? I much prefer the Tilly over the Carter especially the nrd

I would assume that should work. As long as the 754 had the same tilly carb you are trying to use.

Fought through some real weird issues on this one. Thought it was junk so I bought a sl,9 that ended up definitely being junk and used some parts to make the sl10a run. It will be wearing a 12" roller nose with 3/8 chain. I just need to buy a new 3/8 clutch drum because it has 1/4 set up on it with 15" barIMG_20240205_154656773_HDR.jpgIMG_20240205_154711645_HDR.jpgIMG_20240205_154822523_PORTRAIT.jpgIMG_20240205_154849301.jpgScreenshot_20240205-180729.pngIMG_20240205_154759771.jpgIMG_20240205_154723429_HDR.jpg

The muffler and air filter cover came off a early sl9 if anyone was wondering.. I just like the look of the filter cover since newer ones just had a sticker and of course it needed a stack muffler 😆 so I sanded one up real nice. Today I hope to clean up the bar and sharpen a chain for it because Saturday the clutch drum comes 😁
