Actually, if I had to own an electric chainsaw it would be a Remy. They havn't stopped making them since they bought out Mall.

I keep my eyes open for a professional quality electric chainsaw. There have been times when one would've come in handy cutting 4x4s, 6x6s, etc. One of these days I'm going to let go of some my "one of these days" project saws in trade for an elec saw.

Looking for the nut (left hand threads maybe) that holds the clutch on the crankshaft on a SL-5R gear drive.

Help appreciated.

IMG_20160528_174137.jpg OK Carl, here's what I have. It's a one inch hex, 1/4 inch thick, with fine, left hand threads. O.D. of the crank threads is about .628"

Carl,

Did you still need a copy of the Pro 88 IPL? I have that and I can scan a repair manual section as well. Just say the word.

I've inexplicably passed on 1 or 2 of those planetary reduction Remy's. Wish I hadn't. Be interesting to see how much lighter they are then the typical Remy tanks.

The direct drives are bad enough for sure. I also have typical spur gear type. Never handled a planetary.

I wonder if I can stick a Pro88 cylinder/piston/crank in a Bantam case?
