Would you have some friction washers and a set of pawls?
None that I plan on selling...

You can clean the old friction washers with carb and choke cleaner or some other similar product, or, if you have the proper tools, you could make some out of delrin.

Concerning the pawls, sometimes rotating the kickers 180° on the main piece can help them grab the starter cup better. If not, grind them in such a way as to sharpen the inner (or upper) corner of the side of the dawg that kicks out when the starter is pulled. It doesn't have to be razor sharp, just put a little edge on it.
