Replacement tree

I live on Long Island and recently had a swamp maple tree removed by
the Town of Huntington because it's roots were entwined around my cesspool
and destroying my front yard including my brick walk.

I would like to know the name of a good replacement tree that will
be beautiful, not too much care and produce some shade.
