Used the ol' 65 on a load of big maple...ran great, pulled the 24" bar well. Started 3 pulls cold.
While cleaning up / sharpening I decided to throw a new ring in 'er.
Imagine my surprise when I saw the old ring! End gap was a whopping .200!
Bore and piston looked great. I doubt this saw had ever been apart.

I like this ol' girl for cutting osage, turns fewer rpm's than the new saws, just right for the unbearably hard stuff...

Speaking of end gap, what is a good spec for chainsaws. namely, a 385xp. Is there a website with this kind of info? I'm putting a new top end on my 385, and this is the only real spec that I don't know what to do with. Is there a gap that works for all saws? Or is it dependant on the model?

Seems kind of wierd working on a motor that I can lift with one hand.
