My old HS shop teacher set me up with a good score again. Not only did I get a very heavy scrap load (my 500lb overloads were digging in!) I also found a very nice low hour, later model Super 25DA. Has a ton of pop and spark. Put some mix in primed it and it fired on the 3rd pull. It went in to the shop in the mid 80's, the teacher got fired and never got the saw. Has a good bar and almost new stihl 3/8lp chain. Also got a bunch of shocks, springs, and rotors and 150lbs of carter, weber and qjet carbs. The blue thing is a "big A" parts book holder. I'll be keeping that. You guys might be able to help me with one thing tho. Under the saw are (8) 8'x3''x1/4'' steel pipes that weigh at least 100lbs a piece. These look expensive, not like drain pipe or support columns. Any ideas?

can't help with the pipes, but the carb on the top of the picture looks like a electronic Q-jet off and Olds or Buick.

The "pipe" appears to be some sort of D.O.M. tubing judging from how it appears to have no weld seam on the inside of the tubing.

Nice score Joe..................again. I just got a s25da and I freaking love it !!!What a snotty little saw.

Just dont brake the pull cord, Ive put mine together at least a doz times and still cant it to work. The one time it did work my knot came undone.

Tubes

If all of this came from a bigger school that would have a good size heating system, it could be those tubes are from a steam producing boiler. They look a lot like the ones from the boilers in the refinery I work. The looks of the inside of the tube is why I say this.

Thanks for the replies. The saw just needs a switch. They are self grounding and I checked to see if the lead came off but it didn't. My guess is bad switch. Yes these are mean little saws, I have 3 and have had them bar deep in swamp maple. No problem.
As for the tubes, I thought steam too, then I remembered the school is all electric. I did some research based on what upstateny said and I'm leaning toward DOM tubing. The seam is barely visable. Also I think the tubes came from now shut down welding dept inthe school.
