What sort of timber was it? The blokes running the CSM looked like they were making heavy weather of it.

Howdy,
It was white oak. Somebody told me they used it for making wooden wheels and axles for wagons back in the day. I know the 3" x 33' went for decking. I can't remember the name they used for the braces they were going to make out of the thicker slabs.
