I bought this saw not running, I am on my third spark plug, and I filed and set the points. The saw will spark about every 4th pull and when it does it produces a strong spark. Any idea as to it not being consistent?
It sounds like a cracked wire that is making contact intermittently when you vibrate it by pulling the starter. First disconnect the kill switch wire and try starting it. Then you could make some resistance readings like the wire from the points/condenser and even the coil primary/secondary.
