Guys can you give me some pointers on learning how to regognize the different types of trees and their characteristics. What would be the best literature to pickup regarding this subject that would be easy for a layman greenhorn to understand? THNX

Quick and easy would be one of the pocket guides. I use " A Golden Guide Trees", Joe.

I use Peterson Field Guide. It lets you identify tree species even when there is no foliage using things like leaf scarring characteristics.
