Sprocket teeth?

I see a lot of talk about swapping drums and sprocket teeth. My question is what is the point what are you trying to achieve out of doing so?:silly:

Decreasing tooth count will reduce chain speed and increase torque, as when running a long bar on a somewhat underpowered saw.

Increasing tooth count will increase chain speed and should result in faster cutting but will give up some torque, fine with shorter bars or soft wood.
